HBO announced today that they have renewed "True Blood" for a second season.
The vampire series premiered on Sept. 7 with the second episode gaining viewers at a crazy rate jump of 25 percent.
"We are absolutely thrilled that the critics and our viewers have embraced 'True Blood'" said Michael Lombardo, president of the Programming Group and West Coast Operations for HBO in a network press release. "Alan Ball has done it again - made an addictive series that is unlike any other."
I think this is great news. Yes, the show can be a little cheesy at times but that just adds to the charm of the show. It's a soap opera for sure but much in the way "Dark Shadows" was.
It's creepy, sexy, fun and most certainly worth my hour at 9 p.m. on Sunday night.
