Stand Up Florida

ACC ROBIN WILLIAMS 1.JPGIt's been a long time since comedy legend Robin Williams brought his unique, hamster-on-speed act to a national audience. But guess what folks, the wait is over.

Williams will be one of the cornerstones of what is going to be a whirlwind tour of stand-up comedy in Central Florida over the next two months.

Through March and April, comedians like Cheech and Chong, Denis Leary, Larry the Cable Guy and George Lopez are only a short drive away. And with the times being what they are, who couldn't use a laugh?

Here's a breakdown of what you can look forward to starting this weekend:

Robin Williams: The legend returns for his "Weapons of Self Destruction" tour. The tour, which deals with topics ranging from petite Olympic athletes to Sarah Palin, will soon be heading to Broadway. If you go, be sure to bring your Ritalin. (Not for you, for Williams.)
Where: 8 p.m. March 11 at the Times-Union Center, 300 W. Water St., Jacksonville.
Tickets: $49.50-$85. Ticketmaster.com; 407-839-3900.

George Lopez: Before Carlos Mencia there was George Lopez. The Latino comedian has been tearing up stages for well over two decades and will bring his ethnic brand of humor to Orlando.
Where: 8 p.m. March 12 at Hard Rock Live, 6050 Universal Blvd, Orlando.
Tickets: $50. Ticketmaster.com; 407-839-3900.

CCHONG306ACC.JPGCheech and Chong: They're back. The icons of stoner comedy are reuniting for the first time in years for the "Light Up America" tour. The tour will mark the duo's first in 25 years. Knowing these two, it's a good chance it might be another 25 before the next one so this will be an event not to miss.
Where: 8 p.m. April 4 at Florida Theatre, 128 E. Forsyth St., Jacksonville and April 5 at Hard Rock Live, 6050 Universal Blvd, Orlando.
Tickets: $39.50-$59.50. Ticketmaster.com; 407-839-3900.

Larry the Cable Guy: If you're from this area and you don't know who Larry the Cable Guy is, you should be ashamed of your self. If you do know the redneck comedian's work, then "git-r-done" and get yourself some tickets.
Where: 7:30 p.m. April 16 at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, 300 A. Phillip Randolph Blvd, Jacksonville.
Tickets: $43. Ticketmaster.com; 407-839-3900.
