You want to talk about time travel? It seems like just yesterday that it was January and we were all geared up for the season five premiere of the ABC smash "Lost." Now we find ourselves one day from the finale and while some questions have been answered regarding the island's mysteries, many remain. As we head into tomorrow night's two-hour season ender, let's take a look at some of "Lost's" burning questions.
I'm starting to get really confused with all this time jumping. First we had flashbacks, then flash-forwards. Now, we're flashing to alternate presents with the Oceanic Six stuck in 1977 and everyone else in present time. (I got dizzy just writing that sentence.) When will it all make sense?
Never fear, Losties. While this season has seemed like a whirlwind of time jumping, the end is near. "All I will say is that it is time for the time travel craziness to end," said co-creator Damon Lindelof in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. "And once it does end, something very, very surprising will happen in its wake. It is a little bit of a game-changer."
Is Daniel Faraday really dead?
As a doornail. No surprise healing. No trip to Smokey to be revived for Daniel. But as we know, on our favorite tropical destination, dead does not always mean dead. The producers have admitted that Jeremy Davies, who plays the quirky physicist, is no longer a series regular. Does that mean we might see Faraday again perhaps in an off-island flashback? Will we ever find out what he was doing in Ann Arbor?
This love quadrilateral between Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet has gone far enough, right?
Quite correct. We've gone from Jack and Kate to Sawyer and Kate to Juliet and Jack back to Jack and Kate and now we have Sawyer and Juliet with some Kate jealousy mixed in. (None of those make a good couple nickname like Brangelina. Although I do enjoy Suliet.) By 11 p.m. tomorrow night, Sawyer will make his choice. But will it be the choice he wants to make?
Are we ever gonna find out why Hurley decided to come back to the island? And what's with that guitar case?
Good question. (Of course it is, I wrote it.) According to Hurley himself, Jorge Garcia, we'll know soon. "People will find out why [Hurley] got on the plane and how he came to get that guitar case in his hands." he said.
"I've been wondering about that, too. I remember at one point asking a question about it and getting a, 'We don't know yet.' I had to ask once, 'How heavy is it? Is it just a guitar? Is it something else? How heavy is it supposed to be?' Sometimes I get an empty case to lug around in a scene and sometimes it has a guitar in it, but we don't actually know what's in it because that has not been [revealed] yet. It could be a case full of food or money or guns or papers or anything. So you see me get the case by the finale, but I don't know that we will find out what's in it. It was hard for me to play because at first I did not understand why Hurley would have ever changed his mind about going back to the island, and I'm sure fans are thinking the same thing. So it will be nice to be able to give them that information."
Are we ever going to see the front of the four-toed statue?
That's affirmative. Early this season, we got to see the intact statue from behind. It didn't give us much but with it's Anubis feel and the array of hieroglyphs we've seen at Smokey's temple, I can imagine the statue is Egyptian.

Michael Emerson, who plays Ben Linus, has let us in on something Losties have speculated for some time. "She's Taweret, the goddess of childbirth," Emerson said in a recent "Lost" podcast. "That dovetails in pretty well with our themes, wouldn't you say?"
Regardless of what the statue is, what lies in the shadow of it?
The survivors of the crash that brought the Oceanic 6 are apparently not the caught in the crossfire innocents we thought they were. A few episodes ago, the bounty hunter escorting Sayid proposed an intriguing question: What lies in the shadow of the statue?
We were introduced again to the question in Miles' back story when he was kidnapped by some dudes in a van. (At least one of those dudes is now on the island.) So what does it mean? Is it a code phrase much like Desmond's "What did one snowman say to the other snowman?" Or is it a question that they'd like the answer to. I'm leaning towards code phrase but don't rule out the possibility that it could be Jacob's cabin.
Are we ever going to see this elusive Jacob?
No need to hold your breath. My sources tell me that tomorrow night is the big night for our long-awaited introduction.

I'm an avid fan & follower of the series LOST... have been since day one of its conception years ago. I love this show! I see that you are as well and it's wonderful to connect with avid followers. I read your article and take on the series this morning in the Accent page and your thoughts on some items & subjects. I have some theories I'd like to share with you.
The Statue - I have two theories... I also think it may be Egyptian, but I have a very strong feeling that it represents the LOST city of Atlantis or Lemuria, as well as this island they've been on for some time now. The Atlanteans/Lemurians features and details, as well as their "height" are very similar to that of the statue. Will be interesting to see what it represents, won't it?! The LOST cities of Atlantis and Lemuria were highly charged in "magnetic" frequencies and waves of profound energy... lending the ability to "heal" and transform things instantaneously. There is much to be read on both of them... Edgar Cayce has pinpointed alot of what it probably was as have many prophetic individuals and scientists.
Time Travel - is it time travel, or could it be that they're living in parallel universes... other dimensions of themselves? Parallel universes exists all around us... they are a fact. In another dimension you & I could be basking in the sun on an island somewhere, rich with monies we've created for ourselves. Or we could be in another dimension where we're homeless, poor and don't know where our next meal is coming from. We may be an animal species in another dimension. In another dimension/parallel universe, the dinosaur age still exists... we just can't see them as we are in the 3rd dimension and unable to... for now. If we tune our frequencies into a higher vibration and energy... you can see yourself in another dimension, living another life. For instance, Ben as a young boy exists back in their 1970 dimension, but the adult Ben is witnessing himself as a child and has the ability to recreate his life because of how he knows already it's going to turn out. They all also have an instinctive "remembrance" and familiarity when they connect with someone... consistently asking... "Do I know you... you seem familiar?" That would not come from time travel; as the person they go back to in time would have absolutely no remembrance or recollection of the other person from the future & their connection to them. It's because they've experienced that person in one dimension; are familiar with them and their actions and the "energy" between the two are coming together in the dimension/parallel universe they are currently in. Hope I'm not babbling!
Anyway... just wanted to share with a fellow LOST trekkie. :) It's all so interesting and fascinating and I give big props to the creators of this episode... they've opened up a whole new doorway (or should I say dimension) to another world!!!
