With another Comic-Con in the books, I thought it might be a good idea to take a look at the week that was and break down some of the big news that was unveiled at the four-day event in San Diego.
"True Blood": It was a big weekend for the HBO vampire smash hit. First off was a presentation by Charlaine Harris, author of the books the TV series is based on, who announced that she had just signed a deal to write three more books. With nine already on the shelves, the TV series has plenty of material to continue for some time.
HBO also announced that an official "Tru Blood" beverage will be released on Sept. 10. Is it blood? Cherry juice? V8? Nope. According to HBO, it will be a fizzy orange drink. Orange drink? C'mon HBO. Couldn't even make it red?
Oh, one last thing. For those of you who have read the books this may not be a surprise, but for the rest of us keep an eye out for a possible love triangle between Bill, Sookie and a certain Norse vampire. Should be interesting...

"Fringe:" A few months back I told you that Kirk Acevedo, who plays FBI
agent Charlie Francis, announced on his Facebook account that he was
being killed off the show without a reason.
Executive producer Jeff Pinker this week said that rumors of Agent Francis' death were "entirely premature." Perhaps someone should tell Acevedo.
Also, producers hinted to the fact that some deceased characters may be making a return via the show's alternate realities. Could that mean we'll say hello again to terrorist David Robert Jones and perhaps even Olivia's old partner, John Scott?
"Lost": Couldn't do a Comic-Con recap without "Lost," right? And
Comic-Con brought us a slew of hot buzz about the best show about a
plane crash and polar bears that has ever aired on television.
When last season ended and Juliet detonated the hydrogen bomb, we were left with the question of whether or not time would reset when season six begins in 2010. Now, I think we're getting enough hints to suggest that it has.
Rumors have been rampant about past characters returning for the final season. We can confirm a few: Elizabeth Mitchell will be back as Juliet, you can expect to see Jeremy Davies as Faraday again and in an interesting twist, Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone, the first "Lost" casualty, has confirmed that he will be bringing Boone back to the series.
Show producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse then threw us a real puzzle. At the conclusion of their panel at Comic-Con, the pair brought out special guest Dominic Monaghan, who played Charlie. Killed off in season four, Monaghan waved to the audience insistently. A close-up of Monaghan's open palm revealed the words, "Am I Alive?"
Well ... are you?
Here's what else we learned this week:
Michael Keaton will voice a Ken doll in Pixar's latest "Toy Story" film, due out in 2010.
iPhone users can keep their eyes open for a new app based on Showtime's hit series, "Dexter."
Fox will not be airing "Family Guy's" controversial abortion episode according to creator Seth MacFarlane, who is not at all happy about the decision.
Universal Studios has once again pushed back Benicio del Toro's "Wolfman" remake to Feb. 12, 2010.
Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of director Ron "Opie" Howard, will replace Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria in the third "Twilight" film, "Eclipse."
