ACC 386 TOM 1.JPGWho can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew? Cover it with chocolate and a miracle or two?

Chuck Smith, that's who.

The next installment of "Tom On the Job" takes us to a wonderland of chocolatey goodness in Daytona Beach, Angell & Phelps.

Stepping through the doors of the historic establishment on Beach Street takes you back to the company's roots during the Prohibition days. Opened in 1925 by Riddell Angell and Cora Phelps, the candy compound was purchased by the late Dr. Alvin Smith, a Daytona native, in 1983.

Arriving at Angell & Phelps with entourage in tow, I meet with Chuck Smith. Smith is the son of Dr. Alvin Smith who along with his brother Al, runs the cocoa mecca.

"Well we're going to have you play in some chocolate today," Smith tells me. "We'll make some molds, some (chocolate covered) potato chips. We'll even make some orange creams."

This is seriously one of the coolest marketing campaigns for a film I've seen in a while. "Heroes'" Larter stars in "Obsessed" which opens this weekend with Beyonce.

To get Larter to be obsessed with you, check out my video and you can create your own.

One-Liners

If you read the news, watch television or look out the window, you know it's bad out there. But no matter how bad it gets, the one thing you can't lose is your ability to laugh.

April is National Humor Month and to celebrate we brought out the big guns.

The one-liner might be the oldest and possibly most difficult genre of comedy to attempt, but when done right, it can be a downright art form. So to show you how it's done, we bring you the kings of the one-liner: Henny Youngman, Mitch Hedberg, Steven Wright and Rodney Dangerfield.

So without further ado, take our jokes, please!
I've recently become obsessed with Twitter. And Facebook.

So I had a stroke...of brilliance!

I watch a lot of TV. You watch a lot of TV. Why don't we watch a lot of TV together?

Starting tomorrow night, I'll begin live blogging with the new episode of Fox's "Hell's Kitchen."

Over the course of the week, we'll be doing a bunch of these: "Heroes," "Idol." Who knows what else?

Only one I won't be doing is "Lost." Out of respect for those who are still trying to catch up, (shout out to ABC) I'll be leaving this one alone.

If you guys have any shows you think might work well for this, give me a holler.

Now that the holidays are over, we can go back to our daily lives of work and watching television. And while many of our favorite shows came to a close before the fat guy came down the chimney, many are coming back now that the last verse of "Auld Lang Syne" has been sung.

So when is your favorite show headed back to the airwaves? Let's take a look:

"HOMELAND SECURITY":8 p.m. Tuesday on ABC. America is obsessed with reality television so it was only a matter of time before the Patriot Act got its own show. And the best part? It goes up against "Idol" in its second week. What's the threat level on that?

"SCRUBS": 9 p.m. Tuesday on ABC. Upon getting booted from NBC after a poorly promoted, poorly executed season, "Scrubs" found itself a new home on ABC. Will it be one more season for the underappreciated comedy?

One of the coolest things about the holiday season happens to take place on that magical box we call a television. Yes, I'm talking about holiday TV specials.

We all have our favorites. From "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (both of which ran prior to the date of this article; bit early right?) to "It's a Wonderful Life" and "The Santa Clause," these shows have shaped our holidays seasons for decades.

Let's take a look at some of the best and we'll tell you when they're on, too. Call it a Christmas miracle.

As the year begins its traditional run to the finish line, I think it's time to start looking back on the year that was. So for the next four weeks, we are gonna recap the year that was 2008.

Now I know Thanksgiving was last week, but it's never a bad time to be grateful. On that note, here are the top ten things I was thankful for this year:

In honor of the holidays, every Thursday in December, Accent staffers will take a look at some of their favorite holiday movies. This week: "Die Hard."

"All right, listen up guys. 'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except . . . the four (expletive deleted) coming in the rear in standard two-by-two cover formation."

If that line doesn't say Christmas, I don't know what does.

I know, I know. When you think holiday favorites, 1988's "Die Hard" doesn't usually come to the front of the queue. But for this writer, the action flick starring Bruce Willis is a staple of the Christmas season.
