Trick or Tweeting

Let it be known: Although I am going along with this Twitter thing, I predict there will be stories about Twitter fatigue (they can call it faTwigue, if they wish) by the time Halloween rolls around. For now, here am I:
    follow me on Twitter
Where are you? I look at the comments for this blog, so let me know there or on Twitter itself.

I'll eat almost any food, at least once.

And then I'll try to make whatever it is at home.

I guess that's what qualifies me to do what I do. Not the culinary training I never had and not the restaurant-kitchen work I never did. The closest I ever got was being a very bad waitress between my sophomore and junior year of college (I went to the University of Miami, by the way -- go, 'Canes!)

If you ever went to a Greek pizza place in Sarasota and were served by some girl who couldn't remember your drink orders long enough to get from your table to the soda gun, we may have met somewhere along the way. Sarasota's where I grew up, mostly, and spent many holidays and summers with my folks. But I was born in one auto-racing capital, Indianapolis, and have ended up in another, Daytona Beach. Don't ask me if I prefer Indy or stock cars because -- sshhh! -- I'm not a race fan.

There are plenty of other things I like about the ol' 386, though, besides the restaurants and supermarkets, I mean. I get around to the beaches, springs, the lighthouse and the museums pretty frequently. Most of them are pretty good picnic spots, too. Here on three8six, you'll read mostly about my food adventures, with a few side orders of my other interests thrown in.

Despite my adventurous palate, I'm no Andrew Zimmern or Tony Bourdain (although I have spoken with Bourdain, and he's more of a fun guy than you'd expect), so I'll try to stay clear of the gross. Visit every day to find new, tasty content.
