Predicting the WrestleMania XXV card

With the Royal Rumble being Sunday, you can't ignore WWE's other big annual event.

PREDICTING THE WRESTLEMANIA XXV CARD

There's no point in doing fresh WrestleMania XXV predicted matches after Sunday's Royal Rumble, as we'll know at least one of the matches for the big event.

So, what better time than now to predict the card for the annual bash?

For the record, I don't see Batista being healthy enough to compete.

Also, people love to predict this card. As I've found out in years past, even if some of these matches seem to be the current "popular choice," predicting this card is not easy.

On that note, we'll see how many of these matches are on the April 5 card. Now on with it:

Raw's main event: John Cena vs. Randy Orton. The two biggest names on the Raw brand right now.

Smackdown's main event: Triple H vs. Edge. It's why HHH moved to Smackdown, isn't it?

ECW's main event: Jack Swagger vs. Umaga. Why not jazz up the ECW scene and have Umaga return as a strong face character?

Women's main event: Kelly Kelly/Melina vs. Beth Phoenix/Michelle McCool. I can't see two women's matches on the card, so expect a tag-team match here.

Intercontinental match: CM Punk vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Mr. Kennedy. This gives the IC title some importance again. I threw Kennedy in here because I can't see him in a ladder match or anywhere else on the card right now.

Other matches:

Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho. Stephanie isn't a big fan of Jericho, right? So why not throw "The Deadman" at Y2J? Oh, and expect to see Stephanie at ringside.

Shawn Michaels vs. JBL. I've heard Michaels-Undertaker, but that will only happen if WWE decides to drag out the Michaels-JBL pairing.

Jeff Hardy vs. Christian. This match will get lost with the other matches I've already listed, but it seems to be the plan for Hardy.

Money in the Bank ladder match: Miz, John Morrison, MVP, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, Matt Hardy.

Mark Henry and William Regal vs. Finlay and Hornswoggle. It's intriguing, so why not?

LATEST HEADLINES AND MY REACTS

WWE re-ups with Rey Mysterio on a new three-year deal with a two-year option. REACT: Much better than a scary five-year deal.

WWE's Low Ki to be called Kawal, which means soldier. REACT: How do you even pronounce that, let alone spell it?

Former ECW GM Armando Estrada opens fast food restaurant in Glendale, Ariz., called "Baby's Steak and Lemonade." REACT: I would love to place an order there.

WWE releases Hardcore Holly. REACT: This is a surprise, but he hasn't done much in months.

Ashley Scott in her second WWE movie, this time with John Cena. REACT: My co-worker said this must be bad for her acting career, but I disagree. She's a talented actress.

MVP admits backstage attitude hurt him. REACT: Good to see him making things better for himself.

Jim Ross says Mickie James and Gerald Brisco were involved in separate car accidents last Monday night before Raw. REACT: I'm surprised more wrestlers don't "call it in" due to bad weather.

Mick Foley nervous about potential match with Kurt Angle. REACT: Foley is a good performer who can tell a story, and he might be right here. A match with a wrestling stud like Angle might be a train wreck.

Candice plays a heel at a recent house show. REACT: I think this would be good for her, as her character has become stale.

Some think DH Smith was wrong for leaving TJ Wilson and Natalya for a push with The Legacy. REACT: Wrong, maybe. But Smith didn't want to drown in FCW forever either.

TNAWrestling.com says Kevin Nash is "tentatively scheduled" to return for the Jan. 26 and Jan. 27 TV tapings in Orlando. REACT: Great news!

Maria and CM Punk trade barbs in radio interviews. REACT: Pen and company ink never mix.

Monday Night Raw does a 3.9 rating. REACT: That's awesome. And who says Mr. McMahon doesn't equal ratings?

Jonathan Coachman on a WWE return: "There's no chance I'm going back." REACT: Coachman has found his calling as a sportscaster. Good for him.

TNA President Dixie Carter not high on Shannon Moore return. REACT: After letting him beat AJ Styles, I don't blame her.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter names The Miz as the most improved wrestler of 2008. REACT: Well-deserved!
