Randy Orton vs. Shane McMahon?

Everyone and their mother figured John Cena vs. Randy Orton was the likely Raw main event for WrestleMania XXV on April 5. Now, who can be certain?
In what was a brilliant final segment on Raw in what continues to be a great story line, Orton was confronted by Shane McMahon and was not "fired" or punished.

This was a strong angle -- plain and simple.

It started out with Orton having his lawyers and his therapist by his side, claiming he had Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED), which 16 million people have. Orton then threatened WWE with two lawsuits -- one for not diagnosing his IED and one breach of contract if he isn't given his main-event match at WM XXV, that he earned from Sunday's Royal Rumble win, should he be "fired." Orton also said Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase would leave WWE with him if he was fired. Then, he read a few apologies, which was funny because that's how everyone does it when they apologize on television for something. Great stuff.

In the final segment, Orton threatened to shut down WM XXV! Another great threat. I thought it was good that the wrestlers all came out in a sign of protest.

One bad thing about the Orton angle was blaming this on his mental state. Maybe it's because we had a local connection to the Benoit Family Tragedy, but this angle reminded me of Chris Benoit.

Also, is threatening to shut down WM XXV and having all of the wrestlers be "out of work" such a great angle in this economy?

Finally, I know Shane McMahon must be built up as being credible, but should he really be able to handle The Legacy single-handedly? I think not.

Thankfully, those three concerns of mine should pass as the feud itself will take over.

Will this be on the No Way Out card? Will it be a WM XXV match? It's hard to say. I think WWE has to have this match this month at No Way Out; otherwise, it will go on too long. But what does that mean for WM XXV?

The Elimination Chamber Qualifying matches:
1. Chris Jericho defeated CM Punk: No big loss for Punk, as he's the Intercontinental champion. Jericho needed this win, as he's been out of the ring lately. Did anyone else find it strange WWE didn't promote this match at all during the show, and it was the main event?
2. John Cena defeated Shawn Michaels: This match had a great finish. I liked how JBL cost Michaels the match. Is Michaels now free from JBL and can they now feud?
3. Kofi Kingston defeated Kane: I didn't think Kofi stood a chance in this one. This was a nice surprise.
4. Rey Mysterio defeated William Regal: Mysterio has a strong fan base, so it made sense to have him win.
Anaylsis: Out of Jericho, Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio, expect Cena to retain. The key here is what other two wrestlers WWE will add in this six-man match. Expect it to be two heels. Also, Jericho definitely can't win, as he likely will face Mickey Rourke at WM XXV.

The rest of Raw:

1. The Miz and John Morrison defeated Cryme Tyme: This was a surprisingly strong match to open the show. The right team won. Can anyone beat Miz and Morrison?
2. Beth Phoenix/Jillian defeated Melina/Kelly Kelly: I was glad to see WWE not ignore this match from the past Raw. The booking was solid with Rosa Mendes taking out Melina while Kelly Kelly was pinned. I can't figure out where the women's division will be at come WM XXV.

WRESTLEMANIA XXV MATCH PREDICTIONS

Cena-Orton, Edge-HHH, Mickey Rourke-Jericho (there's always a celebrity match), Undertaker-Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy-Matt Hardy. That's five strong matches. Expect five or so more.

LATEST HEADLINES AND MY REACTS

Triple H spent the most time in the Royal Rumble (49:55) and had the most eliminations (6), according to Michael Bluth of lordsofpain.net. REACT: This is just so you remember who WWE's "man" really is.

WWE considering new reality show. REACT: WWE has done Tough Enough shows before, so this would just be a slight upgrade.

Bret Hart's ex-wife Julie stunned over some of the affairs Bret mentions he had in his book, and she sides with Vince McMahon over the "Montreal Screwjob." REACT: I can't imagine her finding things out like that from Bret's book. Hearing her side with Vince doesn't surprise me.

Matt Hardy fans upset over his heel turn. REACT: Tough. It's wrestling, people. Embrace it like I did with the Hulk Hogan heel turn!

Maria puts wrestling fourth on a list on her Web site. REACT: One has to plan for life after wrestling. You can't blame her.

The only problem I had with the storyline was that people like Miz and Morrison actually helped out when Shane came out, not only did it break Keyfab, but it just made things look bad. I could see where possibly it ticked off enough Shane could take out Orton and co, but if you notice he was focused on Orton and really only pushed off Priceless until he got to the ramp.

For me the most part of the first thing I mentioned is that char wise I don't think Miz and Morrison would really care, they are cocky to the point that even if there wasent a WM they could get work anywhere, thats just my thoughts on it.

It's amazing how many viewers and columnists on various Web sites HATED Monday's Raw. To me, it was something new, fresh and different. And needed.

Good point about Shane really only pushing off Priceless. I feel people are overreacting a little saying he kicked all three of their rear-ends. True to an extent, but not really.

As for Miz and Morrison, they could have their own comedy show or could work a major gig in Vegas. They are that damn good.
