This card seems way too busy, but there are some big matches.
Some of these matches will be ridiculously short, especially since Orton-HHH could be three matches in one.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy. REACT: This match should get decent time and steal the show. Punk's face-heel, heel-face swaps make him an interesting champion. I can't see him dropping the strap here. WWE can keep this feud going with a weird finish. My pick is only based off the faces winning Orton-HHH and Cena-Miz. PICK: Punk.
WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Triple H. REACT: We've seen this way too many times, but it never disappoints, even based on name value alone. At least the concept is different here. Expect HHH to win the wrestling match and Orton to win the Falls Count Anywhere match. Keep in mind, HHH is 2-for-2 in Three Stages of Hell Matches, having beaten Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels. Make him 3-for-3 and a 14-time world champion (that would be two behind Ric Flair if you are counting). PICK: HHH will win the Stretcher Match.
ECW Championship Scramble Match. REACT: Tommy Dreamer as champion doesn't seem right, but it is what it is. One could say any of the other four (Jack Swagger, Christian, Mark Henry and Finlay) would be better champions. The odds are strongly against Dreamer -- he only has a 20 percent chance of winning. The time is now or never for one big man. PICK: Henry.
Women's Champion Melina vs. Michelle McCool. REACT: I like Melina as champion, but she seems to be keeping the belt warm for the more-interesting McCool. On that note... PICK: McCool.
Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio. REACT: I thought Mysterio would lose his mask a few months ago. A few readers told me I was crazy. When I think about it, those readers are right. Mysterio will never lose his mask. But he won't win this one. PICK: Jericho.
The Great Khali vs. Dolph Ziggler in a No Countout, No DQ Match. REACT: I can't see this lasting very long. I'm surprised it's even on the card, but it should be only if it pushes the smaller man. He'll win via the DQ route. PICK: Ziggler.
John Cena vs. The Miz. REACT: WWE could go another few months with this feud, but there's no way its company man is going to be humiliated again. The Miz has had too much fun lately. PICK: Cena.
Unified Tag Team Champions Carlito and Primo vs. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. REACT: I still can't get into the idea of Carlito and Primo as tag-team champions. I feel more can be done with the heels as champions. On that note... PICK: Rhodes and DiBiase.
MICHAEL, FARRAH AND ED
I know this is a wrestling blog, but I can't ignore the deaths of three legends this week.
I grew up listening to and enjoying Michael Jackson's music. It's a shame he didn't have a proper sendoff with a final tour.
Farrah Fawcett was definitely an iconic poster image for millions, including myself. She was my second-favorite Charlie's Angel, behind Jacqyln Smith.
Ed McMahon entertained me with his late-night gigs, but younger people will sadly only remember him for his Publisher's gig.
RIP, trio.
LATEST HEADLINES AND MY REACTS
WWE Superstars: What an awesome show with three great matches in Jack Swagger over Evan Bourne, Dolph Ziggler over Jimmy Wang Yang, and Kofi Kingston over MVP and Matt Hardy. I fail to understand why Yang is not more of a regular. He still has "it."
WWE Smackdown: Four matches isn't alot in a two-hour show, but all of the matches got the job done. R-Truth continues to impress, and WWE did a solid job pushing McCool vs. Melina. Morrison's win over Punk was shocking, in addition to being a superb match. And the main event did a great job promoting Punk-Hardy and Jericho-Mysterio. I am a little concerned with the Teddy Long probation story line, but I'll wait to see how it plays out.
CM Punk said his first name stands for championship material. REACT: Good one.
Punk said his dream opponent would be Harley Race and was hoping to face Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania XXVI. REACT: Interesting choice on Race. This shows Punk knows history. I do think he'll have a better feud than Mysterio. Nothing against Rey, but Punk will have another feud going.
Torrie Wilson told EOnline.com she plans to release a workout video in the near future. REACT: I'm surprised Torrie didn't do this earlier, but she'll get more sales now after her Celebrity success.
Hurricane Helms said Paul Burchill has been off TV since June 2 because Burchill's brother recently died fighting overseas. REACT: My regards to Burchill.
Tonight's Bobby Lashley vs. Bob Sapp fight. REACT: I'll pick Bob, or is it Bobby, to win. In all seriousness, go with the former WWE superstar. PICK: Lashley.
