Sorry for the delay in getting this posted (yeah, I'm talking to you, TV Junkie! She called me out!). Usually, when it takes a day or two to get the blog updated, it typically means that the episode was kinda so-so and I'm not overly excited to post. Or I'm insanely busy. In this case, it was definitely the latter. This was one of the best episodes of the season -- if not THE best.
This episode had me laughing from beginning to end. Usually, I like the episodes that kinda have a decent dose of all of the characters. A little bit of Creed, a little Meredith, some Stanley. But this one had one theme -- and very little of the peripheral characters -- and it was awesome. And it had one of those moments that made me say "Yes!!" -- kind of a "Rocky" moment.
The beginning, with the early-morning deliveries had a few good lines. Like Ryan's, "Ever since I've gotten clean, there's someting about fresh morning air that makes me sick." I liked Michael drinking the milk and sugar, too.
I thought these were some of the other highlights from the rest of the show:
*The opening shot of Charles, and then the zoom out with Dwight sitting behind him in his office.
*The random "Stanley, pay attention" from Charles when Wallace showed up.
*Most of the meeting with the accountant. Like when he asks why the other companies couldn't match their prices and Pam says "Corporate greed?" Then, right after the meeting when they come to a stop and the Korean woman gets in the van. Hilarious.
*Dwight's solution to the Michael Scott Paper Company problem -- filling his office with bees.
*Jim's ring tone for Dwight.
*Michael entering the elevator saying he wasn't going to let them know they were broke. And the elevator opening back up to see Michael hunched over, saying "I'm afraid I'm gonna say it!"
*These other quotes from Michael: "Well, well, well. How the turn tables ..." And, "Our balls are in your court!"
*And then the flashes of brilliance that make us pull for Michael. Like his speech to get Wallace to agree to give them more money. And then getting their jobs back right after that. "I want Pam back." "But we already have a receptionist." "Sales!" And then his "No, no. You're done" when Charles was leaving. For every time they've made Michael look like a dope, it was awfully nice to get those reminders of why we were rooting for this guy all along.
Just a fantastic episode. I think this is one of those that I'll leave on my DVR for a while.
