Daytona Flea Market Freedom Field

(Provided by Becky Steinke)

Daytona Flea & Farmers Market To Sponsor Freedom Field Event - a red, white and blue public art event.

Express your Freedom, Express Yourself.

Calling all creative souls! Join us and Event Coordinator artist Margaret Schnebly Hodge and artists Kathy O'Meara and Jean Banas in creating Daytona's first Freedom Field at the Daytona Flea Market, corner (US 92) International Speedway and (SR 415) Tomoka Farms Road Daytona Beach.

THE MISSION: Install over 800 linear feet of flags (or flag like) creations! Donate a flag of your own design to express your thoughts on freedom. Your creation will be seen by countless visitors through July 4 weekend before being donated to local veteran causes for fund raising.

Everyone, children to adult, is encouraged to participate - bring your homemade creations, from simple to extraordinary - all media is welcome, but it must be something that will hang on rope - use your imagination - old towels, pillow cases, fabrics of all shapes work! Red, white and blue or any color will do. Decorate one side or both. Submissions may be any size up to 4 foot wide by 4 foot tall.

All local organizations, schools and citizens are encouraged to participate!  The Market will be awarding Flea Bucks (good as cash anywhere at the market) for three top creations! Enlist today at www.daytonafleamarket.com so we know who will be in the field beside us..or just come on by and join in. Those who want to create on site should bring their own materials as on site materials will be just the basics (cloth & paint, water to clean up and tables).

Join us Saturday and Sunday, June 27 from 28, 10 AM to 3 PM at the Daytona Flea & Farmer's Market to submit your pre made creations or create one on site. Become part of Volusia County's first "Freedom Field", south entrance of the market off Tomoka Farms Road.
