Auditions for roles in our opening show for the 2009-10 season are scheduled for this coming week-end - Sunday, July 19 and Monday, July 20, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Little Theatre in the rehearsal hall. Details follow:

--Season Opener--
'Squabbles'
Comedy by Marshall Karp
Performances: Sept. 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20 (7 performances)
Auditions: July 19-20, 7 p.m.
Director:
Shelly Wawrzonek

Jerry Sloan is a successful writer of advertising jingles married to an equally successful lawyer. Living with the happy couple is the not so happy Abe Dreyfus, Jerry's curmudgeon of a father-in-law. The situation is exacerbated when Jerry's mother (Mildred) loses her house in a fire and needs a place to stay. Since the wedding, Abe and Mildred can't stand each other. This play is one hilarious confrontation after another until the heart warming finale.

Characters: 4 men, 3 women (ages 30's - 70's)

Jerry Sloan: A professional jingle writer (sings, plays the piano)
Alice Sloan: Jerry's pregnant wife and a successful attorney
Abe Dreyfus: Alice's funny and stubborn father, retired New York cab driver, lives with Alice and Jerry
Hector Lopez: Puerto Rican handyman who spends most of his time in the W.C.
Mildred Sloan: Jerry's mother
Sol Wasserman: retired pharmacist and Abe's friend
Mrs. Fisher: governess/nanny

Helpful hints from the director when auditioning for roles in Squabbles: Male actors may want to audition with Jewish and/or Spanish dialects as characterizations in this play would be enhanced with these particular accents.

Auditions are open to the public, and stage experience is not necessary. Readings will be from the script and a copy is available at the reference desk at the New Smyrna Beach library. For add'l information contact the LT office at 386-423-1246 or e-mail info@NsbPlayers.org.
