The Junior League of Daytona Beach will hold its annual Best Foot Forward project which will provide over 140 Title I Elementary School children back-to-school clothing and shoes that would otherwise be unaffordable. The event will take place Sunday September 13th from 5:30-8:30 at JC Penney in the Volusia Mall. As we have heard from school principals for the last four years, this provides invaluable self-confidence and a sense of "worth" to children who might otherwise be deficient in these key developmental categories. The Junior League coordinates with the schools to get permission slips for the outing, supplies a light snack for the children and, through strictly volunteer efforts, provides a "personal shopper" for each child.
