MELBOURNE, FL - "Who's that on clarinet?" That's what everyone was saying a few months back when Syl LaFata was a supporting musician at Jazz Friday. On Friday, May 1, 2009 Syl LaFata is back for BrevardArt Museum's Jazz Friday.
Often compared to bandleader great, Benny Goodman, LaFata is a talented musician in his own right. LaFata has appeared along with Lawrence Welk, has played with drummer great Mousie Alexander and guitarist Cal Collins (both Goodman alumni).
Jazz Fridays are the first Friday of each month from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 and Museum members are free. Jazz Fridays are sponsored in part by WFIT and AT&T Real Yellow Pages®, and includes raffle prizes and door prizes.
