Diplo unleashes Lazer
When we last heard from Daytona-bred deejay/producer Wes "Diplo" Pentz, he was nominated for a Grammy with fellow deejay/producer Switch for their work on M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes."
Now Diplo and Switch have joined their knob-twisting powers to form Major Lazer, a musical entity that fuses "digital reggae," dancehall, vocals from M.I.A. and Santogold, plus Diplo's trademark mash-up tricks and "found" noises and beats.
Major Lazer's album, "Guns Don't Kill People ... Lazers Do," drops June 16 on the Mad Decent label. The animated, Quentin Tarantino-esque video for the song "Hold the Line" stars a beefy Jamaican soldier dude with a laser arm and zombies! See it at mtvu.com/music.
PACK HEAT
Take that, Kim Jong Il!
Everybody knows someone they'd like to hit with a small foam missile.
With the Dream Cheeky USB Missile Launcher, you can do just that.
USB, you ask? Yup. This electronic missile launcher is operated via keyboard or mouse from your computer and can be placed up to three feet from any USB port.
The box contains the turret-like device, three missiles and a paper target. But let's face it -- the only target you're using are unlucky passers-by.
So whether you're planning on invading a small cubicle, tormenting the family pet or warding off the that pesky co-worker who steals your doughnuts, pick up the $34.95 launcher at dreamcheeky.com or vat19.com.
